About: Mao Zedong is arguably the most influential policy-maker of the 20th century. Mao made China into a superpower. It is widely believed that China would not have had a springboard to leap from to become world economic superpower had it not been for Mao's dictatorship.
He did some bad things, he did some misguided things, and some good things.
Mao was strong, used propaganda, fear tactics and strong foreign policy to convince China that it was an equal of any nation (a first among equals, I guess, when it comes to Japan).
